Ahmed Mohsen Mansour

Ahmed Mohsen Mansour (1987) is an Egyptian Artist based in Cairo. Mansour has participated in several exhibitions and workshops within the fields of video, photography and animation in Egypt, USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Slovakia, Spain, Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Mansour’s work is based on memories of events he has been involved in. Fascinated by the endless oscillation of the human condition, he looks at what can start as a triumph and turns into a manifesto of defeat, `. He distorts those phenomenons through diligent personal practice, leaving the viewer with a testament from the edges of his world.

No time for video

“No time for video” (two video channels screening at the same time) I always wonder why I no longer have enough time. How to grasp and represent the passing of hours? Could I create alternative ways to measure and perceive time so it passes more slowly?” Since quite a while I hardly had time to express myself creatively and focus on producing new art projects. Because of daily work, personal struggles and obligations. I started to get into apathy, which can be described as a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation, and/or passion. As a reaction to this situation, I started to take my camera to shoot everything and nothing through the course of the day to reflect the lack of enthusiasm of daily routine.
